The second in our series of exclusive interviews is with Ben from UK based 2PetalRose. The custom figures they make are just up my street and the fact they're all made by hand in the UK make them even more appealing. For our readers who aren't familiar with 2PetalRose can you please briefly explain who's behind it and what it's all about?
2Petalrose are Myself and my brother Liam, we have drawn and created for as long back as we can remember and finally decided to combine our skills and create something across the board – We’re known for our toys but we also paint and sketch and write music – We’ll evolve the company as we go on but for now toys seem to be our medium.
Do you have artistic backgrounds and have either of you had any training or are you self-taught?
We’re both self taught – I enjoyed art at school but found restraints with being told how to do this and that so opted to follow my own path – Liam’s always been the same and he’s a very good guitarist so his artistic ability flows down many paths
What inspires you when you're making new toys?
Whatever our brains feed us to be honest – Sometimes we sketch ideas but 9/10 we just go with the flow – Sometimes you just get that feeling and you have to create something – Hopefully that feeling turns out to be something cool – if not it never sees the light of day
Do you have a toy collection and if so is there any you'd like to mention?
We both do – Mine is a real mixed bag of this and that as well as ornaments and small sculptures my fave toy is Letterman from the hoods – Frotastic! Liam has a great collection – Everything from Gundam through Spawn to designer Vinyl and lately some antique Wizard of Oz Figurines

What's on the horizon for 2PetalRose?
Just doing what we do and hopefully evoloving and creating some new lil dudes to put smiles on toy collectors face – That and the ongoing plan to take over the world and make everyone get along….PEACE
